No clearance letter, no booking, and that rule doesn't bend for a good story.

The return-to-activity program is a supervised four-week block for clients coming back to general activity after time away, built entirely around whatever your doctor has and hasn't cleared. It runs a minimum of two sessions a week, filmed like everything else at Totex, with the pace set by the clearance letter on file, not by how the client feels that day.

$70–$95 per session, 4-week blocks Signed clearance letter required before booking
The gate, stated plainly

A signed clearance letter from your doctor has to be on file before the first session is booked. Not before the second session — before the first. There's no verbal exception, no "I'll bring it next time." If your knee locked up last week, wait. Come back when it doesn't, and when the letter is in hand. Totex teaches movement technique, not medical care: it does not diagnose, and it does not replace a doctor or a physical therapist.

This program exists at the Austin studio for people who've had time off from regular activity — surgery recovery cleared for movement, an extended illness, a long stretch of inactivity a doctor has signed off on — and need a supervised, filmed on-ramp back into loaded movement rather than walking straight back into a group class or a gym floor. It is not physical therapy and it does not replace one. A movement coach teaches position and paces load; a physical therapist treats. If your doctor's clearance says physical therapy first, this program waits until that's finished.

Sessions run at $70 to $95 each, sold only in four-week blocks, minimum two sessions a week. The two-session floor isn't a sales minimum — a single weekly session isn't enough contact for a coach to track how a client is progressing against a clearance letter that often has its own step-up schedule attached. The field that sets session frequency in the online estimator locks at two for this reason and explains why if you try to go lower.

How a four-week block is structured

  1. Weeks 1–2: baseline and low load

Sessions rebuild basic patterns — walking gait, sit-to-stand, light carries — at whatever load the clearance letter allows, filmed every time so the coach has a record to compare week over week.

  2. Weeks 3–4: progression within the letter's limits

If the clearance letter permits a step-up and the footage shows the position is holding, load increases in small increments. If either condition isn't met, the coach holds the load flat and says so directly rather than pushing on schedule.

  3. End of block: a plain conversation, not a discharge

At four weeks, the coach tells you whether the next step is another block, a shift into one-to-one coaching, or a return to your doctor for the next clearance stage. Totex doesn't issue a clearance itself — that's your physician's call, always.

What separates this from one-to-one coaching

One-to-one coaching is open to anyone who's passed a Movement Assessment and wants private pacing. The return-to-activity program is narrower: it exists specifically for clients working back from a doctor-documented gap in activity, and every block is built around the specific restrictions in that client's letter. A coach running this program checks the letter's terms before each block and will not add load, range, or session frequency the letter doesn't permit, regardless of how the client feels that week.

What it costs, and what changes the number

A four-week block at two sessions a week runs eight sessions total; at three sessions a week, twelve. The per-session rate sits between $70 and $95, and a longer commitment shaves the top of that range rather than the bottom — a twelve-week booking prices nearer $70 a session than a four-week block does, reflecting a block-based discount, not a promise of a specific total. The estimator on this site runs that math live if you want a number before calling.

What's never included: manual therapy, needling, electrical stimulation, or any hands-on modality. A coach may use a light touch above the shoe or hip to cue position, always announced first, and nothing beyond that. If a session surfaces pain or a symptom the clearance letter didn't anticipate, the coach stops and sends you back to your doctor rather than working through it.
